Robby Naish

Windsurfing / Kitesurfing | World Championship titles from 1977 to 1979. After the emergence of the Professional Boardsailors' Association (PBA) — later to become the Professional Windsurfing Association (PWA) — Naish won the Overall World Champion title from 1983 to 1987, and the Wave World Champion title in 1988, 1989, and 1991. He was renowned for his 'Table Top' and 'Forward Loop' moves. Adding to his fame was his 'Longboard Loop', where he forward looped the 3.72m long Mistral Equipe |
In the nineties, branching out into new pursuits, Naish became a noted competitor in the emerging sport of kitesurfing. In 1998, he won the kiteboarding slalom world title. In 1999, he won kiteboarding world titles in both slalom and jumping. As an international sports celebrity, Naish has been featured in numerous films, videos, news reports, and articles. As of 2006, thirty years after his first World Champion title, popular lines of sailboards, sails, and kitesurfing equipment are marketed world-wide under the Naish name. |

He has held many major titles including the PWT titles in 1999 and 2001. When his dad put him on skis at a young age, he became according to Guinness book of world records the youngest water skier in the world at just 6 months old. |

In der im April 2006 umstrukturierten Sendung fungiert Gion als Action-Experte, der sowohl hinter als auch vor der Kamera für die Stunt-Sequenzen des Formats verantwortlich ist. In dieser Funktion konnte Gion drei offizielle Weltrekorde erzielen: Er hat als erster Mensch per Zugdrachen einen Kontinent durchquert, hinter einem 200 Meter langen Ozeanriesen mehrere Minuten Wasserski gefahren und während seiner Australiendurchquerung die bisher weiteste Strecke überhaupt auf einem Kiteboard bewältigt. |

Grylls has been a guest on television programs, including Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, The Oprah Winfrey Show, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Attack of the Show, The Late Show with David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Harry Hill's TV Burp. Grylls recorded two advertisements for Post's Trail Mix Crunch Cereal, which aired in the US from January 2009. He also appeared as a distinguished instructor in Dos Equis' Most Interesting Academy in a webisode named "Survival in the Modern Era". He appeared in a five-part web series that demonstrates urban survival techniques and features Grylls going from bush to bash. He also has marketed the Alpha Course, a course on the basics of the Christian faith. Warner Bros. asked Grylls to appear in its remake of the film Clash of the Titans.[ |
